The Council

The West Sound Watersheds Council (WSWC) is the lead entity for salmon recovery housed within Kitsap County government, as agreed to by the cities, counties, and tribes* in the specified geographic area, as described in the "Salmon Recovery Act."

 
*Suquamish Tribe, Squaxin Island Tribe, Kitsap County, Pierce County, cities of Bainbridge Island,
Bremerton, Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, and Poulsbo.

 


 

The West Sound Watersheds Council operation in accordance with its Bylaws.

 


 

The West Sound Watersheds Council is the Lead Entity organization for salmon recovery in East WRIA 15. The organization was formed in 2007, replacing the "East Kitsap Salmon Habitat Restoration Committee".
